Equal Pay Is Workforce Infrastructure

​On March 4, 2026, Equal Pay Day, the Phoenix Women’s Commission, in partnership with Per Scholas Phoenix, will host its first Pay Equity convening, bringing together leaders across business, government, and workforce development to address pay equity as a workforce and economic imperative.

​This women focused event moves beyond awareness to action. Through local data, employer case studies, and workforce and policy perspectives, the convening will examine how pay inequities impacting women affect workforce participation, talent retention, and long term economic mobility. The program will spotlight employers who have taken concrete steps to close pay gaps and will invite organizations to make public commitments to equitable compensation practices.

​Pay equity is not only about fairness. It is about building a competitive, resilient workforce and a stronger local economy. When women are paid equitably, families are more stable, employers retain talent, and communities thrive.

​The event will conclude with a call to action and a public Pay Equity Commitment, setting the foundation for continued accountability and progress leading into International Equal Pay Day in September.
