The ocean is central to both the climate crisis and the solutions needed to address it. Ocean acidification, biodiversity loss, sea-level rise, changing marine ecosystems and the transition away from fossil fuels are already reshaping coastal communities, livelihoods and ocean governance.

​Join civil society and community voices to explore what just and resilient ocean-climate action looks like in practice.

​Through a short film screening, presentations, storytelling panel and group discussion, this session will highlight practical actions that embed communities within climate-ocean change mitigation and adaptation solutions.

​RISE UP for the Ocean and Ocean Acidification Alliance invite you to be part of a conversation that connects lived experience, policy, science and community-led action, while highlighting the people and approaches shaping a just ocean-climate future.

​It will be a 2-hour event, followed by an informal social hour, with snacks and drinks, to conclude.
