Surfrider Foundation: Centennial Park Cleanup Event
Come join Maritime Blue and the Seattle chapter of The Surfrider Foundation for a cleanup event at Centennial Park!
The Surfrider Seattle Chapter is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the ocean, waves, and beaches of the Pacific Northwest, while also supporting Surfrider's global initiatives. (https://seattle.surfrider.org/). Picking up trash at Centennial Park keeps litter from being carried by rain and wind into storm drains, rivers, and ultimately the ocean, where it harms marine life and ecosystems.
We will be walking from the start of the Elliott Bay Trail, near Pier 70 and Broad Street, and heading north toward Centennial Park. Meeting location address is: 2851 Alaskan Wy, Seattle, WA 98121 (cross of Broad St, Elliott Ave, and Pier 70, right below Olympic Sculpture Park).
Surfrider Foundation will provide gloves, trash bags, trash bins, trash picker/grabbers - all you need to do is show up.
For any questions, feel free to reach out to Maria Travaille at mtravaille@seattle.surfrider.org.
