Prediction Markets: The Next Financial Primitive? - Tradable probabilities and the emergence of a new financial asset class

Prediction markets are skyrocketing from niche betting platforms into a legitimate financial primitive. Event contracts, binary instruments that pay $1 if an outcome occurs, are attracting an increasing number of serious and institutional traders.

They are also becoming a wisdom-of-the-crowd aggregation layer over news providers. This is both a financial and a cultural trend that may reshape how information is aggregated, validated, and spread across society.

The mainstream entry is in plain sight: Kalshi now provides real-time probability data to Fox News, CNN, and CNBC. Polymarket is the official prediction market partner of X, Yahoo Finance, the Wall Street Journal, MLB, UFC, and the NHL. The NYSE's parent company invested $2 billion. Combined trading volume exceeded $37 billion in 2025 alone.

Professional infrastructure and tooling, including reliable AI-agentic workflows, is emerging to support the needs of serious traders seeking to capture alpha or use event contracts as hedges or insurance.

What are the next steps for prediction markets as a financial primitive, and how can controllable and reliable AI agentic workflows enhance profitability? We will seek the answer together during this event.
