Art of Order Screenings: Climate, Community, and the Fight for Survival
ALN Academy and Docubox warmly invite you to the next edition of Art of Order, a Pan-African cultural initiative that uses film and art to spark meaningful conversations on justice, governance, and the rule of law across Africa.
For this edition, we will be screening the critically acclaimed documentary:
Thank You for the Rain
Set in Kenya, the film follows Kisilu, a farmer and father, as he documents the impact of climate change on his family and community over several years. What begins as a personal record evolves into a powerful account of resilience, adaptation, and civic agency in the face of environmental uncertainty.
Through Kisilu’s journey, the film offers an intimate and grounded lens into how climate change is experienced at the local level, and how individuals and communities respond when existing systems fall short. It raises important questions around responsibility, justice, and the intersection between environmental realities and governance.
Across this film, Art of Order invites us to reflect on how climate challenges are reshaping livelihoods, institutions, and our collective understanding of accountability and long-term sustainability. The screening will be followed by a discussion exploring the broader implications for climate action and resilience in the African context.
