Indonesia SEZ and Supply Chain Virtual Executive Roundtable: Boardroom Series with SEZ and Industrial Leadership for Road to IIF 2026

Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country, approaching 288 million people. For most international manufacturers, that domestic market and the wider ASEAN market beyond it are the reason to produce in Indonesia. Labour costs remain competitive and the supply of trained people is deep, drawn from a vocational and university system that feeds industrial regions across Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan.

This infrastructure push aligns with a broader national effort to build high-value capabilities domestically. Indonesia is using SEZ status to shift this balance. Modern SEZ regulations now extend to service sectors, allowing foreign universities, hospitals, research institutions, and tech firms to set up operations with 100% foreign ownership.Industrial development is evolving along a similar path where SEZ are now allocating dedicated land for data centres alongside traditional manufacturing facilities, integrating power, connectivity, and advanced cooling infrastructure directly into site plans. This creates clear entry points for UK and European businesses across technology supply chains, systems integration, and strategic joint ventures.

The session will provide an opportunity to gain insights into upcoming projects and investment opportunities, and continue the dialogue between UK industry and Indonesian manufacturing stakeholders.
