Making Africa’s capital work for Africa’s development.
Hosted by the African Alliance for Multilateral Financial Institutions (AAMFI), the African Union (AU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Development Reimagined (DR).
Making Africa’s capital work for Africa’s development
Africa faces major financing gaps, including an estimated US$68–108 billion annual infrastructure financing gap and around US$74 billion in unmet trade finance needs. With AAMFI members collectively holding more than US$85 billion in assets, there is significant scope to make Africa’s own capital work more effectively for long-term development.
Join AAMFI, the African Union, UNDP and DR on 14 October at the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok for a high-level discussion on how African multilateral financial institutions can mobilise more affordable, long-term capital and channel it towards productive investment, regional value chains, trade, manufacturing and value-added exports.
The event will bring together leading African policymakers and financial institutions to explore practical opportunities to strengthen Africa’s financial architecture and ensure African capital plays a greater role in financing Africa’s development.
