“What do you do?”
It’s one of the first questions we ask when meeting someone new. Most of us answer with a job title, but a title rarely tells the full story of what we do, how we think, or what we can offer others.
Impact Over Introductions is the first gathering of The Work Room: an in-person community for professionals who want to make real connections, learn from one another, share what they know, and have a good time doing it.
The whole idea is simple: make networking more fun, less awkward, and actually useful.
No pressure to work the room. No expectation that every conversation needs to lead somewhere. We’ll give you a few easy ways to start talking to people, then give you space to connect, hang out, and just vibe.
As part of the evening, we’ll do a shortened Impact Introduction exercise to help you talk about yourself beyond your job title.
You’ll build your introduction, try it out with other people in the room, hear how they describe what they do, and hopefully discover a few things you have in common.
What to expect
A fun, low-pressure evening with guided activities to make meeting people easier, a hands-on Impact Introduction exercise, opportunities to practice with new people, and plenty of open space to talk, connect, and enjoy yourself.
You might leave with a better introduction. You might meet someone who knows something you want to learn. You might realize you can help someone else. Or you might simply meet a few good people you’d actually like to see again.
That’s the point.
We’ll also use one question to help guide the room:
What are you here to get, and what are you here to give?
Come ready to meet someone new, share what you know, learn something from someone else, and have a good time.
