AI in Education Meetup #11
AI in education doesn’t have to be all policy panic, grading drama, and productivity hacks.
This month we’re making room for play: creative experiments, youth projects, weird ideas, tough questions, and the human parts of learning AI can’t automate.urs figuring out what AI means for learning.
AI can generate output. It can’t generate belonging.
That’s where ED + AI lives.
This month we’re opening the room for play, creativity, and the questions that don’t fit neatly into a staff memo, product demo, or school-board policy doc.
Bring the thing you’re making.
Bring the prompt that surprised you.
Bring the student question that stuck in your head.
Bring the creative assignment, game prototype, classroom workaround, weird experiment, tool you’re testing, or big idea that is not ready yet but wants company.
We’ll talk about AI as a creative partner, not just a productivity machine.
What happens when youth use AI to build worlds, games, images, stories, soundscapes, zines, study tools, characters, community archives, or things adults don’t quite know how to categorize yet?
What happens when educators stop asking only “is this cheating?” and start asking “what kind of thinking, making, and agency is happening here?”
This is a practical room, but not a corporate one. We care about consent, equity, privacy, workload, assessment, authorship, and student agency. We also care about joy, weirdness, confidence, and the kind of learning that happens when people feel safe enough to try.
What to expect
Open conversation around real education + AI questions
Space to share tools, workflows, prompts, projects, and experiments
Honest talk about consent, equity, workload, assessment, creativity, and student agency
Small-group discussion so everyone actually gets to talk
A practical community vibe: more kitchen table than conference stage
