idle gaze w/ NODE
When did you last sit with someone and get curious together?
Inspired by David Bohm's approach to dialogue, Idle Gaze is an evening designed for nuanced, generative conversation.
For Bohm, dialogue wasn’t about winning an argument. It was about collective sense-making: a small, non-hierarchical group coming together to think aloud, suspend assumptions, and let understanding emerge between people rather than from any one person. Listening not to respond, but long enough to let your mind genuinely change.
This evening is an experiment in creating that space.
🎨 The Setting
We’ll gather at NODE, in the rooms currently presenting Beeple's work - pieces that ask what happens to memory, attention, and meaning in the AI age. You don't need to know the art (or Bohm) to be in the conversation.
💬 The Dialogue
The questions we'll sit with draw from the work on the walls:
What makes us human
What we ask machines to remember for us
What we hold onto as signal, and what dissolves into noise
What it means to preserve something in an age of constant regeneration
& lots more…
Come for the art, stay for the people! 💌
