Agenda

About this event

This isn't our usual monthly meetup. On 22 August, we're doing something bigger - five cities, one day, 100+ testers in each room.

Session 1

Topic: The Economics of AI Testing: Cost-Aware Evaluation at Scale

Comprehensive LLM-as-Judge evaluation, multi-metric scoring, and large-scale regression suites all consume real tokens and real money. Almost nobody in QA is talking about the cost engineering side of AI evaluation — and teams are routinely surprised by eval bills that rival their production inference costs.

This session covers how to design a comprehensive evaluation strategy that does not bankrupt your CI pipeline: smart sampling, tiered evaluation depth, and cost-aware test prioritisation.

Key Takeaways

→ Why naive "evaluate everything with GPT-4-class judges" does not scale financially

→ Tiered evaluation strategies - cheap heuristics first, expensive LLM judges only where needed

→ Smart sampling techniques for regression suites that preserve statistical confidence at a fraction of the cost

→ Building an eval cost dashboard so your team sees testing spend before finance does

Speaker - Tejsinh Wagh, Senior AI Architect – Quality Engineering at Icetris

Session 2

Topic - Quality Trust, Confidence and Value in AI-Augmented Quality Engineering

This session explores the evolution from AI-assisted and AI-augmented Quality Engineering toward a more evidence-driven approach to quality. It examines the gap between generation and effectiveness, where faster automation and higher coverage do not necessarily translate into stronger defect detection, reduced risk or greater release confidence.

The session introduces a practical Trust → Confidence → Value framework. Trust focuses on whether AI-generated outputs are reliable, explainable, maintainable and aligned with business and technical context. Confidence focuses on the evidence needed to evaluate their effectiveness, including risk coverage, meaningful assertions, mutation analysis, fault detection, traceability and production quality signals. Value connects these outcomes to measurable engineering and business impact such as faster feedback, reduced maintenance, defect prevention and improved release decisions.

Speaker - Sumit Mundhada, Deputy General Manager - Automation, AI & ML at VOIS

Who should attend

Testers, QA engineers, SDETs, automation engineers, quality leaders, and anyone building or breaking software for a living.

A look back

We've done this before, just smaller. Here's what our monthly meetups usually look like - expect more of this, at a bigger scale.
