YOU ARE THE MEDICINE 2026
Season 2 Edition
The Art of Filling Your Cup

A women-only mini day retreat rooted in plant medicine, dance, creativity, culture, community and inspired by the Mayan Goddess Ix'Chel.

What if filling your cup wasn't something you waited to do after everything else was finished? What if it became part of how you live?

You Are the Medicine: Season 2 is an invitation to spend a day tending to both of your vessels; the one you live within and the one you pour from.

Together, we will explore the wisdom of plants growing here in Ontario while connecting plant traditions to Central America and other cultures and regions of the world. We will learn from one another, share stories, write, create and contribute to an interactive community wall of plant knowledge, memories and discoveries.

You don't need to arrive knowing anything about plant medicine what so ever, simply come with memories from the past and present. Whether that's herbs, vegetables, fruits, meals made by the hands of our Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Woman figures.

Your Mini-Retreat Includes:

1-Hour Zumba Experience with Excelsia
We begin by coming into the body through music, movement, joy and collective energy.

The Tea Cup Garden : A 2-Hour Planting + Creative Experience facilitated by a.i.Azucena
A table of completely unique tea cups and saucers will be waiting for you. Choose the vessel that intuitively calls to you; we will plant, nurture and create artistic name tags for our plants. Your cup becomes a reminder of how to tend to yourself, it asks for patience, attention and care long after the retreat ends.

Make Your Own Herbal Tea Bag Station
Explore plants and herbs while creating your own tea blend to take home.

Plant Medicine + Cultural Knowledge Exchange
Learn about plants found here in Ontario alongside plant knowledge and traditions connected to Central America and other regions of the world. Guests are also invited to bring the names, memories and stories of plants from their own cultures and families into our conversation.

Closing: Visual Meditation with Essential Oils
Facilitated by a.i.Azucena, a meditation to ground, uphold, and teach the power of visualization and manifestation. Essential oils and sound to tap into the senses of the meditation.

On going within the space:

Our Living Knowledge Wall
Throughout the day, add something you've learned, remembered or want another woman to know; this becomes collective visual knowledge.

Plant-Based Lunch
A nourishing plant-based meal will be provided as we gather around the table and refill our physical cups.

Woman-Owned Vendor Marketplace
Discover and support six women-owned businesses offering thoughtfully selected products and creations.

Women Artists Gallery
The space will be curated with visual arts paying homage to their cultures, roots and plants.

Goodie Bag
Leave with a curated collection of offerings to continue your ritual of filling your cup at home.

Who is and was Ix'Chel?
The spirit of Ix’Chel, the Maya figure associated with the moon, healing, fertility, weaving and cycles of life, will serve as an important source of inspiration throughout our day.

Her symbolism invites us to think about creation differently:

To honour cycles.
To work with patience.
To understand the power of stillness.
To remember that receiving is also part of giving.
To tap into our power of our creativity
To protect our children and our child within.

Because although we may be capable of doing many things, we were never meant to carry everything alone.

This season is rooted in three reminders:

Practice patience.
Learn to be still.
Give from the Flow of our Cups.
Receive from Community to support us.
