Health Access Series - Growing Healthy Communities
Join Health Tech PHL and the Health Design Lab for part 3 of our Health in Action conversation series.
In light of spring, we are exploring the vital connection between land, environmental sovereignty, and community wellbeing.
While healthcare navigation is often complex at a baseline, true health begins with the foundational resources that sustain us. We’ll be learning from Bartram’s Garden, a 50-acre public park and National Historic Landmark in Southwest Philadelphia that offers everyone a way to build a relationship with nature.
Executive Director Maitreyi Roy will discuss how the Garden’s work—everything from free outdoor recreation to paid youth workforce development, an African Diaspora–focused crop farm to regular environmental monitoring-serves as a model for reconnecting with the earth to build healthier communities.
