18:35 - THOMAS KÜNNETH: Five things you didn’t know about vibrators
Haptic feedback may easily be among the most underrated killer features of an app. A subtle tick while moving a slider. A clear indication that the user's attention is needed. Light buzzes to augment an action on screen. All these are done by vibrators.
In the beginning, vibrators just… vibrated. Through the years, the Android framework gained more sophisticated features for them. But which ones? And why? In this talk, we’ll look at the vibrator APIs, learn about related classes and packages, understand what waveform envelope effects are and how they are used. And we answer burning questions, including: Do we really need a permission to use vibrators?
Key takeaways:
Good vibrations
A clear understanding of related APIs
Knowledge about additions in recent Android versions
19:10 - Second talk, TBA
19:45 - Networking
