Build Your Own AI App and Agent · Mimosa Workshop Day
Stop asking if AI will take your job. Start handing it the right tasks.
Two questions sort almost any task. Should this be software at all? And is it recurring work, or viewing information? If you open something to check it before you make a call, you want an app. If it happens again next week whether you think about it or not, you want an agent.
On Saturday, October 17, we build both: apps in the morning, agents in the afternoon. It's one method taught twice (brief, build, check), and you leave with yours working.
No coding background needed. Bring a laptop and one real task from your own week.
MORNING · APPS · 9:30am to 12:30pm
Build the thing you keep wishing existed.
Write a one-page brief: who it's for, what problem it solves, and what "done" means. Fifteen minutes, because the tool writes the spec now.
Build it in Lovable in 90 minutes, and say no to the parts it adds that you never asked for.
Check it against your definition of done. Clickable isn't finished: the finish line is an app that still holds your data on Monday.
You leave with a working app that opens on your phone, plus the brief that made it.
AFTERNOON · AGENTS · 1:30pm to 4:30pm
Build an agent that works while you don't.
Start with a true story: Kevin ran a live AI agent for 30 days. See what it got done, what broke, and where he draws the line on trusting one.
Write a job brief, then set up one hosted agent with one recurring job from your own week.
Audit what it ships with before you trust it.
You leave with an agent that has fired at least once, the brief that made it, and a checklist for the next agent you meet.

WHO'S TEACHING
Kevin Leung and Nick Zieber from Mimosa. Mimosa provides enterprises with AI workshops to promote better understanding of technology adoption. We run these systems ourselves before we teach them. We're not selling you a platform. We're teaching you a framework for thinking about AI, so you can keep up as the tools change every month.
