Venmo Documentary Red Carpet Premiere
Update: September 2, 2026
Due to circumstances outside our control, we are unable to screen the documentary on the premiere date of September 8.
Instead of the film, we'll be extending the fireside chat into an intimate conversation with many of the early employees at Venmo, including those featured in the documentary. This is a rare chance to hear the story directly from the people who lived it - including stories that didn't make it into the documentary.
The revised evening schedule will be:
6:00 – 7:00 PM — Cocktail Hour
7:00 – 8:00 PM — Fireside Chat with Early Venmo Crew
8:00 – 8:20 PM — Live Performances from Nappy Roots and The Immigrant Groove
8:20 – 9:00 PM — Mingling & Cocktails
Meet several key individuals from the Venmo early days who were also highlighted in the documentary, including:
Iqram Magdon-Ismail: Co-Founder of Venmo; current Founder/CEO at JellyJelly
Bill Ready: CEO of Braintree & Venmo; current CEO at Pinterest
Sam Lessin: First investor in Venmo; current Partner at Slow Ventures
Andrew Staub: Employee #2 at Venmo as head of growth; Now growth at WeFunder
Juan Benitez: CTO of Braintree & Venmo; current Advisor and Board Member at various companies
Capacity, Cancellations, and Attendance
Due to a program change that affected our venue capacity, we've had to cancel a portion of registrations.
This wasn't a reflection of individuals or any action on their part, however, we simply can't fit everyone after the update. If you received a cancellation, know we are sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have you at a future event.
