Poetry in the Upper Room
Poetry in the Upper Room returns next week, with Harjyot guiding us through a group poetry writing session before we open the mic (for you!!!) later in the night.
Our poetry nights happen upstairs at Burmese House, where the smell of home cooked food sweeps through the space. Come hungry anytime from 5pm and settle in with some delicious, made to order meals. Just a little heads up, our kitchen closes at 8:30pm, so come early if you’d like to grab a bite!
7pm | Writing together
Harjyot will guide us in writing a poem together, with everyone contributing to the same piece. Bring your paper and pen. This is a beginner friendly workshop, so you don’t need anything else except a willingness to create something meaningful with us.
8pm | Open Mic
The mic is yours to share a poem, spoken word, or maybe even some music. J will be warming things up, so come along, listen in, or get up and share something of your own.
Entry is free, but please sign up so we know how to set up the space and give our kitchen a heads up!
Getting here: Tram stops are right outside Burmese House, and free parking is available nearby.
