Intersex Awareness Day Celebration 2026

​October 26 marks Intersex Awareness Day, a day to recognise, celebrate the journey and resilience of intersex persons (persons with innate variations in sex characteristics), and raise awareness of intersex lived realities, experiences, promote respect for their rights, dignity, and diversity.

​This year, Intersex Nigeria is celebrating Intersex Awareness Day 2026 on October 31st 2026, bringing together intersex persons, parents, allies, human rights advocates, civil society organisations, partners, and stakeholders.

​This event is a space to celebrate intersex people and their contributions, raise visibility, share experiences, build connections, and strengthen conversations around inclusion, bodily autonomy, dignity, equality, and human rights.
