Women's Day Pitch, Dinner & Art Exhibit @ SXSW

​Unmute, a global social innovation accelerator, and Foundess, a community for women in startups, are coming together to host a Modern Renaissance Salon at SXSW. This event is a curated gathering of women — investors, founders, and creatives — designed to move past surface-level connection into conversations that actually move the needle for women building in emerging tech to solve the biggest systemic issues faced by women and girls globally.

​The evening opens with a fireside chat with Grace Ling, founder of Design Buddies, and then moves to highlight our art exhibit, with a silent auction, where each piece represents a real systemic injustice facing a community of women or girls globally. Guests will choose a cause, collaborate across the table, and develop a practical solution through a hands-on creative process. That work culminates in an open mic where groups present their ideas through artistic creations rather than pitch decks, in partnership with our community partner Moonshot Pirates.

​In alignment with International Women's Day, we are also working to empower a majority-women-led startup currently working on one of these highlighted issues through a microgrant. More details to be announced.
