Women's Day Pitch, Dinner & Art Exhibit @ SXSW
Unmute, a global social innovation accelerator, and Foundess, a community for women in startups, are coming together to host a Modern Renaissance Salon at SXSW. This event is a curated gathering of women — investors, founders, and creatives — designed to move past surface-level connection into conversations that actually move the needle for women building in emerging tech to solve the biggest systemic issues faced by women and girls globally.
The evening opens with a fireside chat with Grace Ling, founder of Design Buddies, and then moves to highlight our art exhibit, with a silent auction, where each piece represents a real systemic injustice facing a community of women or girls globally. Guests will choose a cause, collaborate across the table, and develop a practical solution through a hands-on creative process. That work culminates in an open mic where groups present their ideas through artistic creations rather than pitch decks, in partnership with our community partner Moonshot Pirates.
In alignment with International Women's Day, we are also working to empower a majority-women-led startup currently working on one of these highlighted issues through a microgrant. More details to be announced.
