The Quantum Threat to Digital Assets: Myths, Reality, and Industry Readiness
Bi-weekly w3.hub community brunch <3
Where? 2nd floor kitchen area of w3.hub
This time featuring Ada Jonuse, Executive Director at qLABS.
What will be talking about?
Powerful enough quantum computers will be able to decrypt crypto wallets' public keys and transfer out the assets stored there. This is a fundamental threat to all Top 10 blockchains, as recently presented in the Quantum Vulnerability Index by qLABS.
Quantum computing threat seemed to be many years away until April 2026 when Google announced that the timelines are accelerating and we can expect this threat to become a reality as early as in 2029.
This puts all major blockchains under pressure to implement complex changes that would affect the functioning of the chains themselves and pose big coordination and governance issues.
How prepared each of the Top 10 blockchains are and what can we expect in the coming years?
These and other questions will be discussed during the Community Brunch on May 27.
