Beyond Compliance: Preparing for the FCA's Material Third-Party Requirements
S&W is delighted to host an exclusive roundtable exploring the FCA’s new requirements for material third-party arrangements, which come into force on 18th March 2027.
The changes extend beyond traditional outsourcing and require firms in scope to consider both material outsourcing and material non-outsourcing arrangements. This could include critical cloud, SaaS, cyber security, payment, AI and data providers, where disruption could affect customers, operational resilience or regulatory obligations.
For many firms, the challenge will not simply be submitting regulatory information. It will be identifying which arrangements are material, creating visibility across the supplier estate and ensuring the underlying data, governance and ownership are robust.
At the same time, this presents an opportunity to take a more strategic look at the supplier base. By bringing Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Technology and the wider business together, firms can strengthen oversight holistically while identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary cost, improve supplier performance and manage concentration risk.
Together, we will explore:
Preparing for regulatory change
Determining which third-party arrangements are material under the new FCA requirements
Building the governance, reporting and documentation needed to demonstrate compliance
Creating a sustainable framework for ongoing oversight and regulatory readiness
Improving visibility and managing supplier risk
Gaining transparency of critical suppliers and supply-chain dependencies
Strengthening resilience through better management of concentration and fourth-party risks
Embedding clear accountability across Procurement, Risk, Compliance and Technology
Managing supplier cost and commercial value
Leveraging regulatory change as a catalyst for supplier and spend optimisation
Improving commercial performance through stronger supplier management and contracting
Delivering cost efficiencies while maintaining resilience and regulatory compliance
This practical and interactive session will bring together senior leaders from Compliance and Finance to share experiences, ask questions and consider how the new requirements can support both regulatory readiness and stronger commercial outcomes.
