The UCL Department of Economics and the UCL Policy Lab are pleased to welcome Nicolás Grau Veloso to give a private lecture.
Nicolás Grau Veloso served as Minister of Economy, Development, and Tourism of Chile from 2022 to 2025, and as Minister of Finance from 2025 to 2026, under the administration of Gabriel Boric. Prior to his ministerial roles, he was assistant professor of economics at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile, and a researcher at the Center for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014.
In this talk, he will discuss his experience in government and his work on productive development policy.
