A Conversation on Caregiving in Singapore
Most caregivers didn't plan for it. One day, someone in the family needed more help than the family had. And quietly, without much discussion, someone took it on.
It happens in living rooms and bedrooms across Singapore every day. We don't talk about it much, not because it isn't hard, but because perhaps as Asians we've accepted that this is just what families do. Except the families are getting smaller, the needs are getting bigger, and the people doing the caring are running out of road.
In conjunction with our latest season release of 8pm conversations, a YouTube series where we host heavy topics on a light note over dinner, this session is about caregiving in Singapore: what it actually looks like, what it costs the people doing it, and whether we as a society have decided — consciously or not — what good care is worth.
A fishbowl is a live conversation, not a panel. An inner circle of selected anchor voices talk. Anyone from the outer ring can walk in and take a seat. Join the conversation, or just sit and listen. All who are interested in the topic are welcome.
