About Event

Your sketchbook doesn’t have to be a solo journey.

Sketchbook Club is a relaxed, peer-led monthly meet-up for anyone who wants to keep their creative practice alive. Bring your sketchbook, try new techniques, explore different materials, and share ideas in a supportive, no-pressure environment.

What to Expect:
✨ Short demo or skill share - you'll be shown a technique, material, or approach which you can voluntarily practise for the rest of the evening.
🎨 Prescribed theme or prompt for the evening (optional)
🖊 Plenty of time to work in your sketchbook with any materials you like
👀 Show & Tell - share your work or something recent from your sketchbook

This is a peer group, not a class: we learn from each other, stay accountable, and enjoy making art together.

Tickets & Price:
💷 Standard Ticket (£10.00)
This ticket gives you full access to the evening: join the demo, explore the theme or prompt (if you like), spend time working in your sketchbook with any materials you enjoy, and take part in Show & Tell. You’ll also be part of a supportive peer group, sharing ideas and inspiration while keeping your creative practice going.

💜 Pay-What-You-Can Ticket (Free or Reduced Price)
We believe creativity should be accessible to everyone! This ticket gives you the exact same experience as a Standard Ticket, just at a price that works for you. No questions asked — just come and enjoy!

💛 Supporter Ticket (£15.00 ±)
Want to show your support for the event? The Supporter ticket is pay-what-you-can, meaning you choose the amount you’d like to pay to help support the event and our community. Your contribution helps us keep things running and the creative vibes flowing!

What to Bring:

  • Your sketchbook (any size or style)

  • Any materials you enjoy working with — pens, pencils, paint, crayons, mixed media… whatever inspires you

  • BYOB — bring along whatever you’d like to drink, whether that’s a flask of tea, a tin of juice, or a box of wine. Alcoholic or non-alcoholic, it’s all welcome.

  • Some refreshments (hot and cold drinks) will also be available from Roots Café.

Who’s It For:

  • Anyone who wants to make regular time for creative practice

  • People who want structure, support, and accountability

  • Creatives looking to experiment and connect

  • The event is open to ages 16+. Guests aged 16–17 must be accompanied by an adult.

Accessibility:
There is a step at the entrance to Roots Café and another to access the toilet. Please get in touch with us to discuss your access needs or to check if the space will work for you.
