ASEAN+3: Towards Building a Regional Clean Energy Supply Chain Hub
Presented by the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities
Background
The ASEAN+3 region is at a pivotal juncture in the global clean energy transition. With continuously growing energy demand in the coming decades, abundant renewable energy potential, strategic geographic position, and increasing investments in the region, member nations play a critical role in the global transition toward a low-carbon future.
Despite the region’s potential, fragmented policies, infrastructure gaps, and unequal levels of economic and technological development among countries continue to slow down integration.
Session Highlights
This session will explore pathways to strengthen regional cooperation among ASEAN+3 member countries in the clean energy supply chains, identifying comparative advantages, strategic roles and investment strategies. Panelists will also discuss policy alignment, technology transfer and how to effectively promote inclusive and sustainable development across the region.
