Food and Drink on the Path to 2040: Competitiveness Meets Climate Ambition
Hosted by Food Drink Europe and PepsiCo
Europe’s climate agenda is entering a new era - one that must balance bold emission reduction goals with the realities of global competition and industrial resilience. As the EU moves toward its proposed 2040 target of cutting emissions by 90%, how can Europe’s biggest manufacturing industry, the food and beverage sector, thrive while accelerating decarbonization.
This discussion brings together policymakers, climate experts and industry voices to explore how Europe can lead on climate action without leaving its manufacturing industry behind. The focus: smarter electrification, fair access to renewable energy, and investment and policy support to make the green transition work for everyone.
FoodDrinkEurope will present the enablers for a net-zero pathway for the EU food and drink sector, while PepsiCo will share real-world experiences from its own decarbonization journey showing how cleaner fuels, electrification, and innovation across the food sector can drive both sustainability and competitiveness.
