AI Engineering Meetup - May w/ Krea & K2
Join us for our May AI Engineering Meetup. This is a monthly series for engineers, researchers, and builders interested in AI development. We explore how foundation models are being integrated into real-world products, what tools and techniques are emerging, and what’s next for the field.
This month, we’re joined by Doug Witte, Head of Studio at Krea, an AI suite building powerful tools for creatives.
Krea recently released Krea 2, or K2, its first foundation model built from scratch. Unlike many image models optimized primarily around prompt adherence or generic appeal, K2 was designed for aesthetic diversity and stylistic control. Its wide range of outputs makes image generation feel more expressive, open-ended, and alive.
Before Krea, Doug was on the founding teams of Muze, Refraction Festival, and most recently Wand, which was acquired by Krea in early 2026. His work has long sat at the intersection of creative software and community, a focus he now continues through Krea Studio in NYC.
Join us for an evening of K2 demos, creative workflows, and a look at what Krea is building next.
AI is no longer just a research discipline, it’s becoming a core part of software development. AI Engineers work at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and product development, making powerful models.
What to Expect
Discussions on AI engineering and prompt engineering, their roles in modern development, and how they’re shaping the future of software.
