Collaboration across distance was never designed. It was inherited from in-person habits and moved to a screen. Then we added more meetings to make up for it.

I led distributed design teams for years. Designers in 19 countries, one shared hour in the day. What I learned: when distance is the default, collaboration has to be designed. Good intentions and a better tool won't do it.

This session is that design, run on you. Sixty minutes, a Kolab board, and your own team's friction on it inside the first two minutes. Not a case study, not a slide deck.

A clear read on where your team's collaboration breaks. You'll put your friction points on a live board next to other people leading distributed and hybrid teams, and watch what the room has in common.

My comments on your actual situation. The share-and-comment stretch is the longest part of the hour and the part people come back for.

A firsthand experience of designed collaboration. This is the method I teach, run on you, which is the point.

"I learned that my teams' problems are perhaps universal. Quite comforting."

"I'm learning how you lead workshops, I love the dynamic and timing you follow."

Team leads, managers, facilitators and coaches who work with distributed or hybrid teams, wherever you are in the world. This session runs at [time] CET, which is [Asia-Pacific local time(s)].

Not for anyone looking for a tool tour or a list of remote work tips. You'll leave with a diagnosis, not a checklist.

Led distributed design teams of up to 19 people across Europe for four years, designers from 19 countries, spread across Los Angeles, New York, Berlin, London, Helsinki, Paris, India, with one shared hour in the day. The feedback she heard more than once: how she made the team feel like a team. That doesn't happen by accident.
