Gold has long been the go-to safe-haven asset. However, in 2026, it's been on a rollercoaster, swinging sharply through the year. What does that mean for its safe-haven status? And how do you make the most of gold in your portfolio today?

The World Gold Council, the market development organisation for the gold industry, is well placed to answer.

On a global level, it tracks big buyers’ behaviour, including central banks. In its annual central bank survey, a record 45% said they expect to add to their gold holdings over the next 12 months.

Understanding what drives those big moves can provide valuable insight for individual investors in Asia, where gold has been a household savings asset for a long time and an increasingly popular digital portfolio holding over the last few years.

On 20 October, join Marissa Salim, Senior Analyst, APAC Investment Research at the World Gold Council, and Justin Jimenez, our Head of Macro and Investment Research, as they unpack the role gold can play for your portfolio in 2026.

Plus, attendees considering new additions to their portfolio will receive a special offer to help them get started.
