SciPy India

Are you thinking about submitting a proposal to the

, and would you like to develop a clearer sense of what makes a strong session (talk/workshop/poster) idea?

This session is for anyone considering a submission to SciPy India 2026, whether you are a first-time speaker, still deciding on a topic, or refining a draft you have already started but haven't submitted yet. If you have been meaning to submit, but are unsure where to begin, this is a good place to start!

We are glad to offer advice on what reviewers generally look for, answer questions about the scope and the abstracts, choosing an appropriate format, guidance on how to shape your idea into a succinct proposal, and general tips on how to propose your topic in a way that is compelling to our intended audience at the conference. Please feel free to ask away!

We especially encourage women, and those from underrepresented and marginalised groups in India and beyond, to attend, seek feedback, and submit their proposals.

Can't make it? Don't worry! We'll likely host one last office hour after this one, and you are always welcome to email us at

Best wishes, and we hope to see you attend this call and the conference!
