Hiking to a bright future
Walk into KFF26 the way the festival deserves to be entered: on foot, in conversation, with strangers who are about to become collaborators. A solarpunk hike in Vondelpark the day before Investor Day, framed by the people in our community who are quietly rewriting how systems change actually happens.
Tuesday May 26 · 12:30–14:30 Maagd van Amsterdam, at the Vondelpark entrance, Amsterdam
Hiking is good at creating rhythms of thought, a pace of mind, a social cadence for collaborative creativity and improvisational thought. It's also one of the more honest ways to make sure your thinking is cumulative with other disciplines and other patterns of understanding. That's the wager of this walk.
This hiking tradition began years ago when David Hodgson and Bobby Fishkin started gathering multidisciplinary collaborators for hikes. The format is simple: walk, talk, let conversation drift across impact investing, social innovation, solarpunk futures, systems change, and whatever else lives at the intersection of the people who turn up. Two hours through Vondelpark with people in the process of changing the world who happen to enjoy a hike.
Come if you have an interdisciplinary interest in addressing global challenges. Come if you want to de-risk hypothetical ways to change the world in real time, with peers. Come if you think about how impact investing can scale, or you're a social innovator, a solarpunk, a systems change leader, an agent of change carrying multiple disciplines in your head. Come if you just want a good walk before the festival begins.
A pre-festival warm-up: arrive in Amsterdam, set your intention for the week, leave the walk knowing a handful of people you'll keep running into across KFF26 and beyond.
