Tool, Task, Teaching Move

This month, we’re sharing the tools, tasks, and workflows that help us teach and learn better, and maybe just as importantly the ones we may need to question, limit, or leave behind.

AI is already showing up in teaching and learning. Sometimes as a useful shortcut, sometimes as a creative partner, and sometimes as something getting in the way.

This month, ED + AI is making space to share the tools, tasks, and workflows educators and learners are using.

Are you using AI to make slides, lesson plans, rubrics, quizzes, or examples?

Are you reworking your assessment strategies in response to AI?

Are you creating podcast overviews of challenging readings to scaffold learning (for your learners or for yourself)?

Are you making or testing chatbots, feedback tools, writing supports, image generators, research assistants, or classroom activities?

Bring something you are using, building, testing, avoiding, or still unsure about.

We’ll ask: What's working? What's not? What saves time but weakens learning? What makes teaching more creative, accessible, or responsive? What raises questions about trust, authorship, privacy, surveillance, or student thinking?

This will be a practical, conversational meetup for sharing experiments, comparing workflows, and thinking together about which AI tools genuinely support teaching and learning and which ones we may need to approach with caution.

This is a practical room, but not a corporate one. We care about consent, equity, privacy, workload, assessment, authorship, and student agency. We also care about joy, weirdness, confidence, and the kind of learning that happens when people feel safe enough to try.

What to expect

  • Open conversation around real education + AI questions

  • Space to share tools, workflows, prompts, projects, and experiments

  • Honest talk about consent, equity, workload, assessment, creativity, and student agency

  • Small-group discussion so everyone actually gets to talk

  • A practical community vibe: more kitchen table than conference stage
