Scaling Stories - Rob Porter from FlexEarn
London remains the global heartbeat of fintech and financial innovation. In the FS Tech Coffee Club series, we explore the behind-the-scenes scaling journeys of startup founders and engineering leaders. Each session unpacks their stories, the challenges they’ve faced, and the bold bets they’re making.
This time, we spotlight FlexEarn, a UK-based fintech redefining financial wellbeing through earned wage access. At the centre of the story is Rob Porter, CTO of FlexEarn, who brings over two decades of experience leading and scaling technology in financial services and fintech startups.
FlexEarn – Redefining Financial Wellbeing Through Earned Wage Access
Founded in 2020, FlexEarn is an earned wage access platform helping employees gain fair, flexible access to the money they’ve already earned — without taking on debt. Through seamless payroll integrations and employer partnerships, FlexEarn enables staff to draw down a portion of their wages before payday, improving financial wellbeing and reducing reliance on high-cost credit.
With ISO 27001 certification and partnerships across multiple payroll providers, FlexEarn is scaling rapidly as more organisations adopt on-demand pay as a workplace benefit. The company’s focus on transparency, security, and user experience sets it apart in the growing EWA space.
