Foster Youth Housing Summit
You are cordially invited to Housing as the Cornerstone of Foster Youth Independence, a first-of-its-kind Summit held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. The Summit will kick off with an opening reception on Tuesday, May 19 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
Underscored by recent actions from the Administration and Congress, the summit will focus on how to best sequence existing publicly financed foster youth housing programs to give transition-aged foster youth a path to self-sufficiency.
We will be bringing together a diverse group of public and private leaders in foster youth housing, including federal, state and local public officials, experts in child welfare and housing policy, philanthropy and developers.
The day’s events are designed to highlight ongoing efforts across the nation to ensure that every youth exiting foster care has housing options that meet their needs.
The Summit is hosted by Good River Partners, in partnership with Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, Foster America, Journey to Success, The National Center for Housing and Child Welfare, Table Sense Kids, and Think of Us. The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has generously supported the Summit.
