The Event Will Be Held In Hebrew

Cross-border life and business between Israel and the U.S. create real tax complexity — especially around tax residency, equity compensation, and reporting obligations.

This webinar brings together two complementary expert perspectives — Israeli and U.S. — to help you understand the rules, avoid common pitfalls, and make informed decisions before costly mistakes happen.

🇺🇸 Session 1: U.S. Taxation for Israelis Living in the U.S.

Presented by Niv Gidron, CPA (U.S. & Israel), Partner, Eshel, Aminov & Partners LLP

Session focus

This session provides a practical overview of U.S. individual tax rules that commonly surprise Israelis after relocating to the U.S. Topics include U.S. tax residency and move-year filings, estimated tax obligations, equity compensation planning, self-employment and payroll classification issues, multi-state exposure, gifts from non-U.S. persons, and reporting requirements related to foreign entities — even when those entities appear inactive.

Speaker

Niv Gidron, CPA (U.S. & Israel), Partner

Niv has over 30 years of experience in U.S. and international taxation, advising individuals and business owners on move-year planning, equity compensation, foreign reporting, and cross-border tax strategy. He supports closely held businesses with international operations on tax planning and compliance and holds a Master of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University. He is a member of the NYSSCPA and AICPA.

Eshel, Aminov & Partners LLP is a New York-based accounting and financial services firm established in 1992. The firm provides accounting, tax, assurance, compliance, and business advisory services to more than 3,000 individual and business clients globally, with offices in Manhattan, Long Island, and Florida, and a team of 30+ professionals supporting both personal and entity-level needs.

🇮🇱 Session 2: Israeli Taxation in Cross-Border Situations

Presented by Doron Elmekiesse, Partner, Benjamini & Co Law firm

Session focus

This session will cover the key Israeli tax issues that arise when individuals or founders relocate abroad or maintain economic ties to Israel. We will explore how Israeli tax residency is determined and terminated, the implications of dual residency, and the application of exit tax rules to employee equity and founder shares — with a focus on what must be addressed before a move or liquidity event.

Speaker

Doron Elmekiesse, Partner

Doron specializes in complex tax matters, including negotiations with the Israeli Tax Authority, management of tax assessment proceedings, legal opinions in income tax, and ongoing tax advisory for individuals and companies. He brings seven years of experience at the Israeli Tax Authority, including roles as a supervisor and team lead for corporate and trust taxation at the Tel Aviv 1 Tax Office, with deep expertise in international tax.

Benjamini & Co Law Firm is a leading boutique firm specializing in taxation, including income tax, international taxation, real estate taxation, and VAT. The firm provides comprehensive tax solutions across tax planning, tax litigation, equity compensation, trusts, voluntary disclosures, withholding assessments, and ongoing advisory work.
