Taken from lean manufacturing, Value Stream Management lets you determine the measurable flow of value, see exactly where value delivery slows down, and create openings for better alignment and collaboration between teams.
In this one-day course you'll learn to analyze your current state, design a future state, and manage the flow of materials and information required to get products and services into customers' hands. You'll work with Value Stream Mapping directly: how to collaborate with senior managers, supervisors, and subject matter experts to map the real activities inside your company, and what that mapping is worth to product development.
You'll leave able to run a value stream mapping exercise in your own organization and act on what it shows you.
Course Highlights
Diagram your organization's current state and design its future state
Map processes for complex products and portfolios spanning multiple teams
Calculate time-based metrics for material and information flow
Identify dependencies across development efforts from multiple teams
Build a Value Stream Mapping Plan, including drafting Five-Point Goals
Choose the Key Performance Indicators the Product Owner Team will monitor
Detect overproduction and other forms of waste to reduce process cycle times
Assess customer product feedback and adjust the shared backlog accordingly
