Ryan Foo (CEO, Sonzai Labs) will be sharing how AI can be used to create immersive and hyperpersonalized consumer social experiences, through real-time interaction design, and about their second title, Pocket Souls. (Level 200)
Vishnu Hari (Founder & CEO, ego) will will be sharing more on his work on ego, an AI applied research and games startup focused on building an engine and consumer product akin to embodied character AI. ego went through Y-Combinator last year during which they livestreamed an ai simulated town where one of the characters, on its own, concluded it was in a simulated world and tried to escape..falling through the 3D map. After this incident, ego AI raised almost 7m in seed funding led by ex Riot VCs from Patron Fund and other investors like Balaji Srinivasan, the head of Google Gemini and Japanese media conglomerates like Dentsu. vish will also share their future roadmap as well as their behavior AI foundation model white paper and open source character protocol. More About the Speakers:
Ryan Foo is a game designer building at the intersection of AI and interactive entertainment. He is the CEO of Sonzai Labs, where he leads the development of Pocket Souls, an AI friends experience, creating friends you can be proud of. Previously, he was a game designer at Limit Break and covered consumer venture investing at Delphi Digital. His work is backed by leading investors, and grounded in a vision of making AI experiences accessible, intuitive, and fun. He is also a Computer Science graduate at Yale-NUS College.
Vishnu Hari was raised in Singapore having graduated from ACS Independent and went on pursue a PhD in Astrophysics. He dropped out of his PhD and moved to San Francisco, working at companies like Google and most recently, Facebook AI Research. He left Meta with other Facebook employees to found ego; at the intersection of applied ai research, consumer social and gaming. Besides being a hardcore competitve gamer (top 500 in overwatch) and ai researcher is also a screenwriter having shot his first film, Acceptance, in Singapore at age 19.
