Doughnut Disaster Festival
Let's build local disaster resilience while having fun through a community-centered approach! Disaster Mitigation + Resilience = Healthier & Happier Society
From 9 am to 12 pm, there will be doughnuts and coffee, scheduled workshops with asset mapping integrations, and disaster scavenger hunt games to be played throughout Crockett, and lunch provided by Crockett Cocina right before 12 pm. The main Disaster Resilience Hub will be located at Revival Coffee on Rolph Park Drive.
12 pm - 2 pm we will be taking a lunchtime break and reorganizing
2 pm - 5 pm, we will relocate the Disaster Resilience Hub to the green space at Canyon Lake Dr and Erskine St in downtown Port Costa. We will host more workshops, education and asset mapping, and share food and elixers. Stick around after for dinner or refreshments at the amazing places in Port Costa.
Did you know that Crockett/Port Costa/Rodeo are at the intersection of a potential poly-Disaster? This Disaster Festival is a theatrical educational and logistical experience (for all ages) to build a local phone tree (asset/needs mapping), identify community members for a CERT+ program, and practice strategies in the case of an actual emergency.

We in Crockett, and our neighbors, understand that living along the Carquinez Strait means facing potential challenges like sea level rise, coastal flooding, extreme heat, wildfires, and seismic hazards. This festival is our proactive response, transforming potential anxieties into collective strength and joyful learning.
