About Event

You're invited to attend a fireside chat with the architect of the modern port system

Captain John E. Meredith, CBE, built Hutchison Port Holdings from a single terminal in Hong Kong into the world's leading port developer, operator, and investor, with operations in 23 countries.

Under his leadership, Hutchison drove the global expansion of containerization, the system that moves the goods behind nearly every modern supply chain. Known for a decisive, people-first leadership style, Meredith joins DIBI Founding Director Professor Stephen E. Flynn for a conversation on his career, the lessons of building global port infrastructure, and what it takes to keep supply chains resilient in the modern global economy.

Flynn, one of the world's leading experts on critical infrastructure and supply chain security and resilience, served 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, including two tours as commanding officer at sea, and has advised the White House and testified before Congress more than 30 times on port, maritime, and homeland security.
