Search Story: Michael Wackenhut, Cincinnati Stoneworks

​Join us for an evening with Michael Wackenhut, CEO of Cincinnati Stoneworks, for his search story, followed by light networking, drinks, and bites.

​In 2025, Michael and his business partner, Will Smith, CFA, completed their platform acquisition of Cincinnati Stoneworks, a high-end stone fabrication and installation company serving remodeling contractors, architects, and designers across the region. To take on the business, they moved their families to Cincinnati. Michael's wife was eight months pregnant when he asked.

​Before his search, Michael spent more than 20 years in manufacturing, operations, and supply chain roles across Europe and North America. He began his career in Germany as an Industrial Mechanic before earning a Mechanical Engineering degree. At one company, he grew a business from zero to more than 200 employees and over $100 million in revenue in three and a half years.

​Michael will talk about how he and Will ran their search, how they found and closed the deal, and what the first year of ownership has looked like.
