About Event

Millions of people across the San Francisco Bay Area are on the brink of catastrophic loses to BART, Caltrain, bus and paratransit service. Agencies face up to 70% service cuts and BART has said without new funding the entire system may be forced to close down by 2030.

We need your help to pass Measure RTM this November, which would raise over $1 Billion for transit -- making it the biggest transit ballot measure in the entire United States this election.

Wherever you are in the US, if you support transit, we need your help as this special virtual phonebank to call voters across the San Francisco Bay Area.

We will provide the training and talking points, all you need to do is join the Zoom on a computer and have a phone ready.

We will meet on Wednesday, October 14th at 5:30pm PDT / 6:30pm MDT / 7:30pm CDT / 8:30pm EDT. Please sign up so we can send you any updates before or during the event.

Here's some details about the Measure:

The cuts would devastate our region's transit service and harm millions of riders and force more cars onto our already congested roads. For example:

  • BART, our regional rail system, will be forced to close 15 stations (30% of the entire system), raise fares by 50%, and cut 70% of service meaning no service after 9pm and only 30 minute frequencies. And eventually shut down service entirely.

  • Muni, in San Francisco, will be forced to cancel at least 20 bus routes, end regular service at 9pm, and eliminate iconic cable car and streetcar service.

  • Caltrain, which is our electric regional rail that connects San Jose, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco will be forced to run go from running trains every 30 minutes to only once per hour, eliminate all weekend service, and end service at 9pm.

  • AC Transit in the East Bay will be forced to cut up to 31% of pre-2019 service levels meaning less frequent buses and ending early morning and late night service.

And smaller transit agencies throughout the region face similar levels of cuts.
