Welcoming Winter Community Hike - Colorado Springs, CO
This event is free to attend, with optional donations welcomed.
Join us for a simple hike on the outskirts of the city to enjoy the last days of fall and welcome in the first breath of winter.
Our goals will be to build community by sharing stories of how we prepare for the winter and to enjoy getting outside as the cold weather sets in.
The hike will follow a trail that is a little less than three miles out-and-back. We will ascend 500ft to an overlook with beautiful views along the way.
The first half a mile is a little steep, along a single track and has stairs to help us ascend through the scrublands. We'll move at the pace of the slowest hiker with plenty of time to navigate the path carefully. The second part of the hike opens up into a wide track and winds us along a beautiful ridgeline overlooking the city. We will spend some time at the overlook enjoying the view and building community, while leaving enough time for us to return to the trailhead before dusk.
We ask folks under the age of 18 to please register themselves and an adult to accompany them. If you require a service dog to attend, please let us know and we’ll collaborate with you on how to keep you both comfortable and hydrated at this event.
