DBS Robotics Programme 2026 Info Day & Tech Showcase
We are pleased to invite Grade 7 and 8 DBS students, DBS Robotics Programme members, and their parents to the DBS Robotics 2026/27 Info Day & Tech Showcase.
What do a Guinness World Record, two live R&D projects with Hong Kong Disneyland Engineering, and multiple championship titles at international robotics competitions have in common? They were all delivered by DBS students.
DBS Robotics is a student-led engineering and operations programme. With the guidance of our coaches and mentors, students take genuine ownership of real work — building competition robots, running research projects with universities and industry, and managing the programme's own partnerships, marketing and events. Along the way they develop what classwork alone cannot: engineering skill, project management, confident public presentation, and the habit of performing under pressure.
Join us to learn about the two programmes open to Grade 7–8 students. A student may join either, or both.
Team Delta (Grades 7–8) — the competition pathway
Students design, build and program VEX V5 competition robots, and compete throughout the year. The pathway teaches engineering fundamentals — mechanical design, CAD, and programming — together with teamwork, strategy, and composure in real matches. Top performers are promoted to Team Sigma, our world-class Grade 9–11 team that competes on the international FIRST Robotics circuit, where DBS ranked 2nd out of 137 teams in Asia Pacific.
PRISM (Grades 7–11) — the innovation and impact division
Students train across six professional disciplines — Project Management, Operations & Logistics, Branding & Marketing, Media Production, Graphic Design, and Technical R&D — and deliver real work in cross-functional project teams: research and industry partnerships (including the Disneyland projects and the Guinness World Record humanoid robot developed with CUHK), the programme's media and brand, and its events. Grade 7–8 members rotate through the disciplines and choose a specialisation by the end of Grade 8. Team Sigma and Team Delta members receive priority in PRISM selection process.
What students gain
Engineering and computer science — mechanical design, CAD, programming, sensors and automation.
Organisation and communication — managing projects, budgets and timelines, and presenting formally to sponsors and judges.
A documented portfolio — a multi-year record of real, self-directed work: evidence of ability that goes well beyond grades.
