Itinerary
TWO meeting points:
5:00 AM: Hampton Park Plaza (Ottawa)
We’ll meet at Hampton Park Plaza, conveniently located near public transit and next to the highway. We’ll hit the road by 5:15 AM.5:50 AM: Antrim Truck Stop (Arnprior)
For anyone who rather meet us in Arnprior, be there for 5:50AM, we’ll hit the road at 6:00AM.
The drive to Algonquin takes approximately 2.5–3 hours. We’ll regroup at the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre (Highway 60 at km 43, Algonquin Provincial Park, Unorganized South Nipissing District) before heading to the trailhead.
⛰️Morning: Centennial Ridges Trail
Our main adventure is the Centennial Ridges Trail, a beautiful 10km hike offering elevated views across Algonquin’s forests, lakes, and rocky cliffs. Along the way, we’ll explore varied ecosystems, keep an eye out for birds, and stop at scenic lookouts to take it all in.
In the fall, the trail offers especially beautiful views of the changing forest. While the colours may be slightly past their peak depending on the timing of our visit, the landscape should still be spectacular.
Plan for approximately 4–5 hours for the hike.
🥪Lunch: A well-earned break
Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. We’ll take a break to refuel and enjoy our surroundings.
☀️Afternoon: Optional second adventure
Depending on how everyone is feeling and how the day unfolds, we can tackle a second hike or explore one of the park’s shorter walking trails.
🌅Evening: Dinner at Wilno Tavern
On our way home, we’ll stop at Wilno Tavern for dinner and a chance to unwind after a full day outdoors. Dinner is optional and at your own expense.
What to Bring:
A packed lunch and snacks for the day

A Few Things to Know
The drive takes approximately 3 hours each way, so expect a full day.
The Centennial Ridges Trail is a substantial hike. Come prepared for several hours on the trail and be comfortable with uneven terrain.
Fall colours may be slightly past their peak, but Algonquin should still be beautiful, with plenty of scenic views and autumn atmosphere.
Our second hike is entirely optional. We’ll adapt the afternoon to the group’s energy and interests.

Dogs are welcome. But please keep on leash at all times. Algonquin Park doesn't allow leashes longer than 6ft. Pick up after your dog.
It's around the end of the rut. In general, be very careful with wildlife. But especially with moose this time of year.
Thorough tick check before getting back in the cars (especially if bringing your dog).
