About Event

AI for Good Hackathon – Africa Edition
NamibAI × TUM Social AI Club × TUM.ai

📅 June 27–28, 2026 | TUM Munich
🕘 Start: Saturday, 9:00 AM · End: Sunday, ~4:00 PM

What awaits you

At Munich's first and largest AI for Good Hackathon, you won't be solving theoretical case studies, but real-world challenges faced by internationally active non-profits working across Africa. Over one weekend, you and your interdisciplinary team will develop a concept with impact that goes far beyond the hackathon itself, across areas like migration & refugee support, animal protection, development work, and better education in developing countries.

The ideas of the best teams will be implemented and flow directly into the daily work of the non-profits. As a winner, you will also be invited to an exclusive follow-up event.

No prior experience required. You will get exclusive, free access to the latest AI tools from our partners: models and APIs from OpenAI, and AWS infrastructure, and the app-building platform Lovable, allowing you to turn your ideas into reality in no time.

Speakers include

  • Dr. Fabian Mehring, Bavarian Minister of Digital Affairs

  • Prof. Dr. Daniel Cremers, Chair for Computer Vision & AI, TUM

  • Daniel Togun, Senior Privacy Engineer, Google

  • Matt Bender, AI Consultant, World Food Programme

Who is it for?

Students of Computer Science, Economics/Business Administration, Law, Political Science, Social Sciences, and related disciplines. Interdisciplinary teams are highly encouraged, and we are especially excited to welcome participants from non-technical backgrounds who want to learn how to build with AI.

🌍 Let's shape AI together to create real impact.
