Let’s Play Padel! 🎾
Padel is a racket sport that mixes tennis and squash. You play on a smaller court with glass walls, the ball can bounce off the walls like squash, and rallies are longer and easier than tennis. It's also doubles by default, all these aspects make it super beginner-friendly and fun.
NOTE: If you've signed up but can't attend / you're unsure, please update your attendance ASAP because the court bookings depend on how many of us are going. Plus, we need 4 players per court so if someone doesn't pitch it will make things tricky.
We have 4 courts from 4pm–6pm (indoor) and everyone’s welcome - complete beginners, casual players, and racket sport pros. If you’ve been wanting to try padel, join in. The game is easy enough to pick up and lots of fun.
Venue is about 40 minutes away, so we’ll coordinate taxis and leave around 3pm from Network School. After the games, we'll likely grab dinner on the way back.
What to bring:
Comfortable clothes, closed shoes, water.
Costs:
Yash has graciously booked and covered court costs for us, so just pay your taxi share. Thanks Yash!!
Transport:
I'll update this closer to the time, but let's meet in the lobby no later than 3pm.
I've played a lot of Padel back in South Africa the past couple years and I'll be happy to introduce everyone to the rules and provide some pointers. VAMOS!!
