About Event

Acterra would like to invite you to join a Zoom session on October 15 at 6PM - 7PM with the City of San Jose and the non-profit SPUR to learn about the city’s draft Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan (CARP) and provide direct feedback for city staff. This is a unique opportunity for Acterra and our partners to play a role in the city’s planning efforts, and to provide inputs at this critical stage in the CARP’s development. Participants will get a short presentation from the City and SPUR, and then have the chance to ask questions, offer feedback and insights into the plans development and implementation.

San José is developing a Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan (CARP) to reduce the impact of climate threats like wildfires, flooding, sea level rise, and extreme heat, with particular focus on protecting vulnerable communities disproportionately affected by climate change. The plan complements the city's existing Climate Smart San José mitigation strategy by focusing on adaptation—adjusting how the community lives and operates infrastructure to minimize climate risks—rather than just reducing emissions. Funded by a state grant in June 2023, the CARP is expected to be completed by late 2025, with a public review draft released in September 2025 for review before October 24th.

This call will be an opportunity for Acterra and our partners to offer community perspectives, and identify opportunities to work with the city to strengthen implementation of adaptation and resilience measures.

The public review draft is available here on Konveio and open for comment.

We hope to see you on the 15th Zoom call!
