Trails of Lights: Path to Economics

​This webinar brings together Iranian economists and economics PhD students to offer an inside look at the many paths a career in economics can take.

​The conversation will explore questions students often have when considering the field: What is graduate school in economics really like? How do you decide between a master’s and a PhD? What kinds of questions do economists research? What does the day-to-day work of an economist look like? And how do careers differ across universities, government agencies, research institutions, consulting, and other industries?

​Our panelists will share their own journeys into economics, how their interests evolved, the research and policy questions they work on, and the choices that shaped their careers. They will also offer advice for students interested in graduate school, research opportunities, and building a career in economics.
