Best Time: Late June – Mid July (wildflowers) OR Late September (aspens)
Best Stargazing Weekends: Sept 25th - Neptune in opposition - Need telescope.
Where to Camp: Dispersed camping along Kebler Pass Road in large aspen groves.
Kayaking: Lake Irwin – alpine lake surrounded by peaks.
Best Hike (<10 miles): Three Lakes Loop – ~6 miles featuring alpine lakes and meadows.
Hot Springs: Penny Hot Springs near Carbondale on the return drive.

Stops on the Drive:

· Secret Stash Pizza – Crested Butte

· Scenic viewpoints at Black Canyon of the Gunnison
