Japan is home to world-class researchers and innovators as well as a vibrant economy. But it can often be challenging to bridge the gap from excellent research to entrepreneurial ambition.
Our inaugural Kakushin International Talent Exchange (KITE) aims to address this.
As part of the ASCENT Programme with Japan’s Global Startup Campus, we are looking for scientists and innovators with bold climate and energy ideas to transform Japan’s future. Successful applicants will embark on a 12-month, fully-funded fellowship, involving a year immersed in Japan (for international fellows) or Europe (for Japanese fellows) that is supported by:
A competitive salary (¥17,800,000) as well as visa and relocation costs.
Partnership with a host ARPA-style agency.
Expert mentorship in commercialisation, ARPA-models, and translational R&D
Training and bespoke introductions to global experts, including immersion trips to engage with experts in the US and Europe
Applicants can be from anywhere in the world, but should meet the eligibility criteria for a Japanese or German visa respectively.
